One year ago, you finally left the hospital. You impressed the doctors at every turn—recovering from your heart surgery so quickly and easily, no longer needing a feeding tube because you loved to eat so much, and passing your “car seat test” effortlessly, even though that seat looked ginormous compared to you 😂
You were miraculous. A miracle. Our Miracle.
We left the hospital singing. You were Jasmine and your daddy was Aladdin as we introduced you to a Whole New World. You looked at everything with an adorable wide-eyed face, equal parts wonder and confusion. You seemed so excited about your new found freedom, wiggling everywhere and constantly trying to roll over. You were just a baby, but I could still see the deep strength and determination of your soul.
We spent another week in Las Vegas waiting for legal paperwork to go through. We had to learn to care for a newborn far from home in unfamiliar surroundings. It was hard, but it was also beautiful.
You had been our whole world for two long months already, and now we finally got to bring you home.
I love you sweetheart. We miss you every day and will love you forever and ever.
Until we meet again ❤️
